After a fierce competition and a great ride, Ondrej Cink from the KROSS ORLEN Cycling Team came in second during the Mountain Bike World Cup in Austria. - It is a historic result, I have been waiting for it since I started working with the team," commented Kornel Osicki, Team Manager of KOCT, right after the competition.

The trail in Leogang, Austria, is very demanding. The riders have to compete in difficult conditions. These are long and steep uphill stretches, fast downhill rides with lots of roots, and the mud that appeared after the night rain was an additional difficulty. All riders of the KROSS ORLEN Cycling Team registered at the starting line today.

This time Ondrej Cink reached the finish line in second place. In the women's race Maja Włoszczowska was 17th and Bartłomiej Wawak due to a flat tyre was 49th. Ondrej Cink competed strongly with Mathias Fluckinger from the start. It was not until the end of the race that the Swiss pulled away from the KOCT representative.

- I am very pleased with the results the team achieved this weekend. For the first time in the history of this class of racing, in the men's category our rider is on the podium. It is a very good result, let's add, that Ondrej is now vice-leader of the World Cup general classification. Maja is recovering from temporary health problems, I hope she will quickly return to full form. Bartek had bad luck today, a flat tyre excluded him from the possibility of fighting for a good position - says Kornel Osicki, Team Manager of KROSS ORLEN Cycling Team.

The team has not stopped with these results. As Kornel Osicki adds, now is the time for preparations and polishing the form before the next races. The next one will be held in French Les Gets. The riders are still preparing for the Olympic Games, planned for July.
