Moctar´s story so far
As a young boy I always took part in competitive sport, I started boxing at a young age and fell in love with the discipline and training regime. I fought for my country back to back and won titles all over Europe but my biggest achievement was when I fought in the Europeans and came home with a bronze medal. As I grew up I started experimenting with other types of training rather than boxing and fell head over heels for bodybuilding at the age of 23, since then I have never looked back. It is crazy how much bodybuilding has changed my life.
Why did you start to use Nutrend?
I started to use Nutrend after it had been recommended to me by a friend, the more research I did on Nutrend the more I realised they had a massive variety of products and flavours. I love the high quality of the products as well as the taste.
How do the Nutrend products help you in your sport?
In my sport I need to recover quick so I am always ready for my next session, I find that using the Nutrend supplements help me achieve this better and quicker than any other brands that I have tried in the past.
What is your favourite Nutrend product and which one do you use the most?
My favourite Nutrend product at the moment is the 100% Whey protein in biscuit flavour. I find this mixes well and has a nice consistency, I really love the flavour and often find myself mixing it with oats when I’m craving something sweet.
Diet during the competition day is without any doubts important to achieve an outstanding performance, what is your common competition day diet like?
I stay very strict on my diet coming up to a competition, on the day of the competition I start the day early having a steak dry as I have already dropped water from the previous evening so I appear dry on stage. I keep my food intake to a minimum so I don’t look bloated on stage. As I am warming up for stage I snack on jellys, rice cakes and a Nutrend deluxe cheese cake bar.
How do you prepare yourself for contests? Where and how often do you practice?
For a competition I start prep early, 12-15 weeks out. My training routine is very high intensity and high volume workouts and my diet is very simple and clean. I eat up to 6 meals per day and stick to a specific and strict time. I start my days off with fasted cardio at home as I feel it wakes me up and prepares me for the day ahead. I go to the gym and train once daily.
What is your common training day like?
I wake up and start with fasted cardio followed by meal one, before I hit the gym I make sure I have at least 2 meals down so I have enough energy to get through my workout. My training is very intense, high volume lifting with a short rest period between sets with a lot of super sets, I typically spend 1hour 30 minutes at the gym. Straight after the workout it’s time for oats and protein, then I wait an hour before my next meal. I usually have my last meal about 21:30.
What is your motivation for training?
My motivation is the fear of being average on stage. I train like I have something to prove and I compete to win.
Which was the hardest training in your life and why?
The hardest training I have is when I get together with one of my close friends that pushes me to my limits when we train legs.
Can you describe your best contest?
How did it influence you? The best contest I ever took part in was my first competition, even though I placed second it made me realise what I was capable of and how close it was in my reach. It taught me that things don’t work unless you are willing to work for it, I will never forget that day.
