Although I started playing tennis under the guidance of my father at the age of 4 in my native town Sokolov. My grandfather was regularly carrying me to the Prague Tennis Club in Štvanice since I was 9 years old. I stayed there from the age of 15 so that I could prepare for my tennis career with everything that goes with it.
At the age of 14 I was second in Europe and at the age of 16 we won together with Miriam Kolodziejová the junior Grand Slam Australian Open and the French Open in doubles.
But that year was important for me mainly because after winning the tournament in Milan I became the number one in the world combined ranking of ITF juniors.
At the age of 17, I was nominated for the Czech Fed Cup team for the first time, and as the 117th player in the WTA rankings, I played my first Fed Cup matches against the United States. The year 2017 was also significant for me in that I moved into the elite hundreds of the WTA rankings after winning the ITF tournament in Trnava. This also meant that I was able to participate in the Grand Slam tournaments, where I made it to the eighth finals at the US Open in 2018.
However, my biggest success so far came a year after I became a finalist of the French Open. There I lost in the final to Ashleigh Barty, who is currently one of the absolute world leaders. This moved me among the 15 best tennis players in the world, which is why I have a lot of hard work ahead of me in the future, so that I can move and improve my tennis in the years to come.
This undoubtedly includes the team I formed around me - former 163rd player of the ATP rankings Jan Mertl, lecturer of FTVS UK Dr. Michal Vágner, physiotherapist Martin Janoušek, my long-term coach and mentor Jiří Hřebec and last but not least my cooperation with NUTREND.
In 2021, I qualified at the last minute for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where I eliminated the home star Osaka and the tournament four Ukrainian Svitolina. I lost in the final to the Swiss Belinda Bencic and won the silver medal.
