Maja Włoszczowska and Bartłomiej Wawak win the XCC Polish Championship in Jelenia Góra

Datum: 30.9. 2021

An excellent performance by the riders of KROSS ORLEN Cycling Team at the Polish Championships in the hometown of our Olympic medallist. After a fierce fight on the demanding route of the Paulinum Park, Maja Włoszczowska won the elite women's race and Bartek Wawak reached the finishing line first in the elite men's race. Tomorrow in Jelenia Góra Maja Włoszczowska will compete in Poland for the last time in her career. In a week's time her last start during the MTB Marathon World Championships in Elba, Italy, awaits.

The route of today's race was well prepared, the weather was good, and the riders could count on the great cheering of the numerous spectators. Thanks to them the atmosphere during the race was hot, and the riders did their best.

- I am very happy that the KROSS ORLEN Cycling Team wins the first, historical XCC Poland Championships and makes history once again. Tomorrow the riders will take part in a cross-country race in the same place, and the whole KOCT line-up, that is Maja Włoszczowska, Bartłomiej Wawak and Ondrej Cink, will line up at the starting line. For Maja it will be the last race in Poland, so we will keep our fingers crossed for her and her KOCT team mates - said Kornel Osicki, team manager of KROSS ORLEN Cycling Team.

The riders will start tomorrow on a technically demanding route, which they value for its natural configuration of the terrain, although there is no shortage of artificial obstacles added by the organizers every year.
